According to Anderson and Anderson (1997), Narrative
text is a piece of text which tells a story, and in doing so, entertains or
informs the reader or listener. A narrative comprises an orientation ( a
paragraph, picture or opening chapter in which the narrator tells the audience
about who is in the story, when the story is taking place, and where the action
is happening), a complication ( a chain of events that influence what will
happen in the story), a sequence of events where the characters react to the
complication, a resolution in which the characters finally sort out the
complication, and coda (comment or moral based on what has been learned from
the story.

2. Mention the topic sentences in each paragraph!
3. Mention the characters which tell in story beside!
4. How is the resolution of the problem in the text?
5. Write down the summary of the text beside!

1. first paragraph is orientation, second until fourth paragraph are complication, and the last paragraph is resolution.
2. in the city of Taipei, there lived a man called Lin and his wife (First sentence). When Sau Ling was a young man, a fortune-teller came to the house (Second sentence). Mr. and Mrs. Lin were very sad (Third sentence). Sau Ling was having a meal in an inn several miles from Taipei (Fourth sentence). Mr. and Mrs. Lin never believed a fortune-teller after that (Last sentence).
3. Mr. and Mrs. Lin were kind people, Sau Ling was honest boy, a fortune-teller was liar.
4. Sau Ling returned young man's bag which contained gold, and after that he was given a good job by him. when his parents saw him again they believed that his son was a honest man, and after the happen, they didn't believe to a fortune-teller again.
5. one day, the Lin's family found a baby outside in door. then they was come by a fortune-teller. it told that someday his son would be thief and they would have a lot of trouble. after they heard it, they felt sad and send him away. Actually, his son was not a bad boy, but in he was a honest boy in fact. because of his honesty, he had a good job. and then he went to home. his parents felt delighted when they saw his son became a successful man. since the happen, they never believed again to a fortune-teller.
